Class Etiquette
  • Address the master of our school as Sifu.

  • Use "Yes, Sifu!" or "No, Sifu!" when answering Sifu Tran.

  • Address all instructors (Green Sash, Red Sash) as Sir or Ma'am as appropriate.

  • Use "Yes, Sir!", "No, Sir!", "Yes, Ma'am!", "No,Ma'am!" when answering instructors.

  • Be on time. This means 15 min before class starts so you can warm up and get mentally ready for your workout. If you are late for our group bow, you disrupt your practice and everyone else's.

  • Bow to the practice area when you enter and leave.

  • You should be wearing a proper uniform while you practice with us. Jacket buttoned, pants at waist level, sash tied as you have been shown, and a white t-shirt worn underneath the jacket. If you wish to wear shoes, they must be black kung fu shoes worn with white socks. If you are uncertain about your uniform or shoes ask Sifu Tran or an instructor.

  • No Socializing during practice. This is to give you and your fellow students the greatest benefit from the time allowed. You are encouraged to socialize before and after practice.

  • No gum or food in the practice area. Drinks must be kept in a sealed container. If you spill your drink, clean it up immediately!

  • Respect others and yourself by refraining from profanity and offensive language.

  • Fighting inside of class is to be done only within the constraints of the Mutual Fight.

  • Fighting outside of class is absolutely prohibited. Fighting disrespects Sifu Tran and those who have put time and energy into your training. Anyone who breaks this rule will be expelled immediately.

And always remember:
  • "CAN'T" is a 4 letter word in our school. We may give you difficult, challenging, or exhausting tasks, but we never give you something that cannot be done.
