Since I immigrated to the United States at age 20, I am without doubt fluent in the Chinese language and familiar with the Chinese culture. It is funny that I was never involved in any kind of Martial Arts when I was raised in Taiwan because girls in an Asian culture should behave just like girls, feminine and soft. They should not learn any Martial Arts like boys did, so my Martial Arts life really started when I joined Sifu Tran’s Chan Qi Fa Kung Fu Qi Gong school in Dallas, TX. At first, I was a bit apprehensive about all the physical training at age 41. However, I decided to conquer all the difficulties associated with a rigorous training program. Luckily, my whole family is involved with this Kung Fu Qi Gung lifestyle and that influences me in a positive way. Now after almost 7 years of training, I am more confident and happier with my learning experience, and I love to train others. I will continue this journey to be stronger physically and mentally each day. I want to inspire others to also embrace our Kung Fu and Tai Chi Qi Gong lifestyle so that people of all ages, children and elderly included, will enjoy the health benefits and improve their lifestyle in a great way. I will keep practicing the Chan Qi Fa lifestyle, not only for myself, but also to help others to be healthier and happier for the years to come. This is my goal!
